Teacher Expectations

Picture
Our district-wide and classroom expectations of students are, all students are FOCUSED, RESPECTFUL, and RESPONSIBLE learners.  Students learn to be focused, respectful, and responsible in ALL parts of the school.  Please take a look at our behavior matrix, which explains our school expectations.  This would be something good to discuss with your child.  If a student should break one of the school expectations, he or she must flip a card.  We have a three card policy, all students begin each day on green, which means "good to go", yellow is a warning, and red means they will lose all their recess and must make a phone call home.  Students will also conference with their teacher and fill out a Think Sheet.  Students in the class also have the opportunity to earn "PBS Tickets" for positive behaviors.  Each time he or she displays positive behaviors in ALL settings of the school, he or she will recieve a "PBS Ticket".  As a class we will be working towards a goal of 100 tickets.  After each 100 tickets, as a class we will recieve a special treat.

Homework Policy

Homework is given to students to help reinforce information.  Students should be reading 90 minutes a weeks as well as working on assigned homework.  When homework is assigned, students are expected to return their homework the following day, unless otherwise specified by the teacher.  Students that are absent one day in school will be given that amount of time to complete the assignments.
