September Genre: Realistic Fiction
During the month of September we will be studying realistic fiction. Realistic fiction books have characters that behave in realistic ways, there is usually a problem or conflict that is solved, and/or the setting is in modern times.
As a group we will be reading the realistic fiction novel "Otis Spofford" by Beverly Cleary. Students are encouraged to read books within this genre during the month of September. Below you will find some recommended realistic fiction books. During SSR time, students will be expected to read at least one chapter books that is realistic fiction.
